Edible Forest Garden Eight Years On

with No Comments

Looking out of the window into the edible forest garden, already the perennial leeks are well on their way to providing lots of early food out of the garden. Yesterday I was harvesting oca, and the perennial Kale patch is going to need some serious eating to prevent it from taking over.

As the garden awakens into its ninth year, now will be a good time to jump back to last summer and view the collection of photos taken during a very dry summer. As dry as it was, I hardly watered this garden, other than trying to get newly planted plants established.

Last year I added a few more flowers to the garden to give it another colour than just green. As much as I like green, the flowers gave a nice contrast and provided the insect world with a nice treat.

Here are the results.
