Soil Fertility Design

Design Overview

For this design, I will start with accessing what systems I have currently got setup for composting and what I have been doing to improve the quality of the soils in both the front and back gardens. Then I will create a permaculture design looking at ways to improve what I have been doing and what else I can be doing to add more fertility back into the soil.

The design will be based on the permaculture ethics of, earth care, people care, and fair share. The framework used for this design will be PRIME, Problem, Research, Idea, Make, Evaluate.

A few of the design tools that I will be using are throughout the design are PMI, Functions and Elements, and SWOC.

As a guide for the final design process, I will explore each of the twelve permaculture principles as originally proposed by David Holmgren.

Once the design has been put into action, I will evaluate how the different areas of the design are working. Finally ending with a section reflecting on the design framework and have how I found the whole process of this design.
